Lovely break-down, thanks for sharing!

But you do the whole construction workup AFTER the loose sketch, right? As posted, this makes it look like you do this detailed box breakdown first, which I assume is not correct...

That is right, the boxes were made after the first sketch. I forgot that to add, thanks, Zoe.

I believe including the first drawing in this process sheet is only to show what you where thinking of/ your basic understanding of form and direction of mass while sketching out that second drawing?

These drawings confused me a lot a few years ago.

Btw love your characters.

Thanks Said, for the main part I for one like to use this kind of construction sketches (boxes) for planning the shading, they're quite helpful to me, actually.

You weren't thinking of those boxes when you were drawing Florian... c'moan, admit it.. :} I think your drawing is shape based, not volumes based. :} The boxes are therefore just theoretical theory.. that doesn't explain your drawing/thinking process.. :D

I've those boxes - or say volumes - always in mind when I draw. Sure, the designs are shape based but volume built.
